Pacific Coast Banking School Alumni are presented with PCBS jackets Christian Beams, RepublicBank AZ; Patricia Rourke and husband, Bankers Trust John Kaites, Fennemore Craig; Evan Ray, First International Bank & Trust Q U ARLES & BRADY HAS ABSOLUTELY LOVED ITS RELATION- SHIP WITH THE ARIZONA BANKERS ASSOCIATION. AND, EACH CONVENTION REAFFIRMS THE VALUE OF BEING AN ASSOCIATE MEMBER. NOT ONLY DO WE GAIN IMPORTANT insights about the industry locally, nationally, and globally, but we learn real time perspectives from bankers themselves. Here are a several expanded perspectives that we would like to share. The Content - year over year, the content provides a perspec- tive that we do not get in our daily lives of lawyering. We hear what the Industry has to say. And, of course, lawyers are woven in to some of the panel presentations, but the reality is that we hear and learn about the industry in a way that better prepares us to assist banks in every context - whether it is origination, restructuring, cyber security, litigation, or business counseling. The People - without question, the comaradie enjoyed by all is one of the highlights of the program. Sitting next to bank CEO's and learning their realities and priorities is so criti- cal. Likewise, meeting key industry players from the FDIC to American Bankers Association to the Phoenix Business Journal makes the Convention truly unique. The Association - perhaps most importantly, kudos to the Association! Paul, Theresa, Steven, and others provide us all the much needed context of banking on the local and more global levels. Their insight into policy and "what is on the horizon" provides value beyond words. In Arizona, like in all markets, banking is so critical to our start-ups, family business- es, small businesses, large companies, and public companies. As much as the Association focuses on banks, the reality is that all of us at the Convention reflect the broader community of businesses that are so key to support. Our banks are a criti- cal component of our growing ecosystems. The Association's continued support of the industry in Arizona is, thus, critical to our state's continuing upward economic trajectory. All of us at Quarles who attended - Scott Berg, Brian Sirower, Isaac Gabriel, Scott Jenkins, and me — send a huge kudos to the Association for a job well done once again at the Convention! And, our entire banking team of over 90 attorneys in our 10 offices who specialize on partnering to advance banks in all lines of business and legal needs thanks the Association for all it does! w Platinum Sponsor Quarles & Brady on the 2016 AzBA Annual Convention 10 www.azbankers.org
