Young’s Market Company red and white wine. Ticket proceeds from this year’s event benefited NBAZ Charities® and The Arizona Lodging & Tourism Associa- tion. NBAZ Charities seeks to provide support and resources to nonprofit agencies that are dedicated to improving lives in Arizona. NBAZ Charities is a collaborative fund managed by Arizona Community Foundation. Taste of the Biltmore has come a long way since its initial celebratory evening. In 2006 when NB|AZ hosted its inaugu- ral event, there were approximately eight Biltmore area restaurants and about 100 attendees. This initial event was produced solely as a customer apprecia- tion event; thanking some of our most loyal clients by throwing them a little party. Each year, the event has grown, and new restaurants have joined the program. The event eventually grew out of space inside the atrium at the Phoe- nix corporate office, and had to sprawl across the front parking lot of the bank’s conference center. Still primarily a cus- tomer appreciation event, the purpose of Taste of the Biltmore has also evolved. National Bank of Arizona, known for its philanthropy, has been partnering with valley nonprofit organizations for the past seven years, having all pro- ceeds from the event benefit that years’ partnering organization. National Bank of Arizona is proud to have donated over $75,000 to valley nonprofit organiza- tions throughout the past seven years. Donation recipients include The Arizona Centennial project, Act One and The Arizona Lodging & Tourism Associate. National Bank of Arizona views the Taste of the Biltmore as a mutually beneficial production. The bank gets to show their appreciation to many of their clients, their clients get to enjoy delicious food and beverages by local restaurants, and the participating restaurants get to showcase some of their signature dishes and beverages. The past two years, the bank has followed participating val- ley chefs in their creation space, and have produced videos educating their audience how to prepare certain dishes, the preparation and thought that goes into creating distilled cocktails, and the impact this event as well as the local restaurant has on the community. Each year, National Bank of Arizona has restaurants requesting to participate as well as clients calling to purchase tickets, months before the bank has started its advertising campaign for Taste of the Biltmore. w To learn more about participating restaurants, and to see the videos and more photos, visit: tasteofthebiltmore.com .
