What goals do you have as the new Chairman of the AzBA? I am fortunate to become AzBA Chairman at a time when the organization is performing well. The staff and board are very engaged and running the organization efficiently. However, the number of banks operating in Arizona continues to decline and this puts pressure on revenues since membership dues are the largest source of revenue. The participation rate amongst banks in Arizona is strong at roughly 72 percent but I am hopeful we can get this to 80 percent within the next year. My predecessor, Toby Day, was instru- mental in starting the Emerging Leader Program which I would like to further develop and enhance when our first class is finished later this year.
