27 ISSUE 2. 2018 National Bank of Arizona Creates New Team to Help Small-Business Owners Gain Capital By Ilana Lowery – Editor in Chief, Phoenix Business Journal N ATIONAL BANK OF ARIZONA IS LAUNCHING A BUSINESS BANKING TEAM TO FOCUS ON DEVELOPING ARIZONA BUSINESSES. The team is made up of eight bankers whose main goal is to cultivate business relationships throughout Arizona, offering solutions to businesses for lending, cash management and deposit accounts, bank officials said. Business bankers will be located in Phoenix, Tucson, Flagstaff, Prescott, Yuma and Mohave County. The effort is focused on helping small- business owners who are looking for capital. While the bank currently works with small businesses, "we noticed an opportunity in the midsize business realm, between startups and larger companies," said John Lewis, business banking regional manager and senior vice president of National Bank of Arizona. "This team will provide many services beyond loans. We intend to build personal relationships with our clients to fully understand their businesses and their needs. We can help with everything from treasury management and wealth products, to a suggestion for the best place to go for a business lunch," said Lewis. The team, which will be managed by Lewis, hopes to improve effectiveness in serving the needs of businesses with annual revenue between $2.5 million and $10 million. “My goal for the business banking group is to connect our team with midsize businesses around Arizona to provide them with financial opportunities and to act as a resource for non-financial needs," said Lewis in an email March 14.
